Charges pending after people attacked with pellet gun near Pitt

Pitt Police probing pellet gun assaults

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Charges are pending after Pitt police said people were attacked with a pellet gun in Oakland. 

The University of Pittsburgh police said from around 10 p.m. until just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, they received multiple reports of people being hit with shots from a pellet gun in the areas of Fifth Avenue, Atwood Street and Forbes Avenue.

Police said they believed a man was traveling in a white SUV, possibly a Mitsubishi Outlander, as a backseat passenger, and using a handgun-style pellet gun.

No serious injuries were reported, police said. 

Investigators asked for help identifying him early Thursday morning. Around 4:30 p.m., police said the person was identified and charges are pending. The suspect's identity was not released.
