Pirates Top AAA Starting Pitcher Suffers Elbow Discomfort

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Rated the Pirates sixth best prospect and the best arm in their Triple-A starting rotation, Nick Kingam left his start Wednesday night for the Indianapolis Indians with discomfort in his left elbow.

Splitting time between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis in 2014, Kingham went a combined 6-11 with a 3.34 ERA in 26 starts, striking out 119 and walking 52 in 159 innings.

This year, Kingham was off to a rocky start going just 1-2 with a 4.31 ERA.

Kingham was believed to be a contributor at the Major League level at some point this season.

Kingham was drafted by the Pirates in the fourth round (117th overall) by the Pirates back in 2010.
