On July 7, some of the Pirates players came to the rescue when a grounds crew member got swept up and trapped in the tarp as a storm blew through Pittsburgh, forcing another rain delay.
Andrew McCutchen, Sean Rodriguez and Gregory Polanco, along with other players and team staff members rushed onto the field to help get control of the tarp and hold it down till it could be secured.
The worker, PNC Park's field maintenance supervisor, was not hurt in the incident and was back on the job the next day.
In a tweet, the team posted a photo of the crew member wearing the new tee-shirt to commemorate the event. It says, "I survived the Tarp Monster."
This guy survived the Tarp Monster!
