Pirates: Ryan Vogelsong Has Surgery To Repair Facial Fractures
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates say pitcher Ryan Vogelsong underwent surgery Thursday to repair injuries he sustained in a scary incident at PNC Park last week.
Vogelsong was hit in the head while at bat. He remained down near home plate for several minutes before being carted off the field.
According to the Pirates, Vogelsong had surgery today at Allegheny General Hospital to repair multiple facial fractures.

Last week, the Pirates placed Vogelsong on the disabled list.
But that's not keeping him away from the ballpark. After initially being released from the hospital after the injury, he went straight to the PNC Park to watch his teammates play.
