Pirates Positioned To Host Wild Card Game At PNC Park Wednesday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pirates will likely host the wild card game at PNC Park Wednesday.
As our news partners at the Post-Gazette explain, "The Padres beat the Giants late Friday night, giving the Giants an 86-74 record. That means even if they win the next two and the Pirates lose the next two, they both finish 88-74, and the Pirates have the tiebreaker by virtue of head-to-head record."
There is a chance the Buccos could play against the Cardinals in St. Louis for a tie-breaker if the two teams tie for division lead -- or the Pirates win the division.
The Pirates secured their playoffs spot Tuesday night after winning against the Braves.
