Visit Pittsburgh Giving Away Playoff Tickets If You Can Spot The Pirate

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Take a picture with a "pirate" and you just might win free Pirates playoff tickets!

An actor dressed in pirate garb (but not the baseball variety) took center stage Monday in Visit Pittsburgh's Welcome Store.

"Captain Penn Stanwix" posed for pictures with visitors in Fifth Avenue place, to a chorus of "Arrrghs." One of those photos, taken with the customers' own cameras, will win a prize that would make any Pirates fan happy.

"We're giving out clues through Twitter to have them find me," the "captain" explained. "Once they have found me, once they do, the idea is to take a picture of me, hashtag it to me through #LovePGH and you get a chance to win two post-season Pirates tickets."

Winners of the random drawing also get booty in the form of jerseys, hats and Jolly Rogers.

"I would love to go to the Pirate playoff game," one woman said.

"I'm a huge Pirate fan, and I'd like to see A.J. Burnett before he retires," another added.

"Captain Stanwix" showed his sentimental side for an injured "shipmate."

"We want all Pirate fans to sign our get-well card for Jung Ho Kang."

As for his next port of call?

"Tuesday I'm going to be somewhere in a town called Oak Land," he said with a laugh.
