Pirates Fans Remain Optimistic Despite Doubleheader Split With Cubs

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Pirates split their Tuesday doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs, but fans at PNC Park are excited by the Pirates chances this season regardless.

The series with the Cubs is important because it could help determine where a Wild Card Game is played.

The afternoon game ended with a score of 5-4, with the Pirates coming out on top. The night game 2-1, with the Cubs winning that one.

Fans leaving PNC Park showed nothing but enthusiasm.

"One loss. It's okay. They'll get better. They were tired you know because they played twice today," said Kaylyn Dykes from New Castle.

Meanwhile, the division-leading Cardinals managed to pull off a win over the Brewers in extra innings.
