Pirates Trade For Pitcher Chris Archer
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded for Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer.
The Pirates announced the trade just after 4 p.m.
OFFICIAL: Pirates have acquired RHP Chris Archer (@ChrisArcher22) from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for RHP Tyler Glasnow, outfielder Austin Meadows and a player to be named. ???? pic.twitter.com/mYih6ybEYm

The Pirates gave up pitcher Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, and another player still to be decided.
Archer tweeted about the trade.

General Manager Neal Huntington released a statement about the Archer trade, saying: "Chris Archer has been, and projects to be, and upper echelon major league starting pitcher who we are thrilled to add to our organization to help us win games for the next three-plus years. Chris is also an outstanding person and we look forward to his introduction to our fan base and the Pittsburgh community."
