Pittsburgh Pirates Sign Free Agent Outfielder Jarrod Dyson

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pirates have have signed free-agent outfielder Jarrod Dyson to a one-year deal.

The team made the signing official Thursday after it was reported Wednesday.

"OFFICIAL: We have signed OF Jarrod Dyson to a one-year contract. #LetsGoBucs"

To make room on the 40-man roster, the team placed injured pitcher Jameson Taillon on the 60-day injured list.

With the Diamondbacks in 2019, Dyson had 30 stolen bases, 7 home runs and a batting average of .230.

Dyson will make $2 million on the deal, according to reports.

Dyson has spent parts of six seasons with the Kansas City Royals, one year with the Seattle Mariners and two with Arizona.

The Pirates begin their Grapefruit League schedule February 22nd against the Minnesota Twins.
