Pirates Acquire Reliever From Miami Marlins

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced the acquisition of Miami Marlins reliever Arquimedes Caminero in exchange for cash considerations.

The 27-year-old Caminero went 4-1 with 10 saves and a 4.86 ERA in 42 relief appearances with the Marlins AAA affiliate in New Orleans.

Caminero made his Major League debut with the Marlins during the 2013 season and put up a 2.77 ERA in 13 games.

Originally signed by the Marlins as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2005, Caminero has gone 22-11 with 27 saved, 451 strikeouts and a 3.75 ERA (369.1 innings pitched) in 247 professional games including four starts.
