Kennywood Begins Repainting Phantom's Revenge With 'Petrifying Purple'

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) - After fans of Kennywood Park voted to give the Phantom's Revenge a new coat of paint, the transformation has begun.

Fans chose "Petrifying Purple" as the new color for the rollercoaster and crews began applying the new color to the rails.

In photos shared to Facebook, workers could be seen wedged between the tracks using rollers to paint the coaster and change the color from teal to purple.

Kennywood says the ride will be open this weekend.
