Peyton Manning Cited In "Hostile Sexual Environment" Lawsuit Against UT

(KDKA) - A lawsuit filed by six former female students against the University of Tennessee argues that its athletic department condoned a "hostile sexual environment."

The suit cites numerous instances of student athletes accused of sexual assault, including Peyton Manning.

The Tennessean first reported the lawsuit and Manning's involvement.

The women who filed the suit claim that the school violated regulations and created a hostile sexual environment by deliberately ignoring alleged wrongs committed by student athletes.

The suit makes reference to an alleged assault of a female trainer by Manning when he played for the University of Tennessee in 1996. The two sides settled the incident in 1997, on the condition that the trainer leave the school.

Former students behind the lawsuit are seeking damages for emotional suffering, reimbursement for tuition and related expenses.
