Person Sentenced In 2005 Murder Of Man Playing Dice Game

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to four to eight years in prison in the shooting death of a man gunned down while playing dice games in a Pittsburgh-area borough a decade ago.

Twenty-seven-year-old Terrance Smith pleaded guilty to third-degree murder Monday in Allegheny County Court in the July 2005 slaying of Jeffrey Williams of Braddock.

Prosecutors said Williams was playing dice and smoking marijuana with a group of people when three people approached and shot him.
Charges were filed in 2014 after a man came forward and said he had witnessed the shooting, which authorities said stemmed from a drug debt.

A jury in March acquitted 28-year-old Tiaron Moses of McKees Rocks of all charges in the case. Authorities say a third suspect was murdered in 2008.
