2 Men Killed In Separate Homewood Shootings

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) – Pittsburgh police are investigating after two people were shot and killed in Homewood overnight.

According to police, the first shooting was reported around 11:57 p.m. Sunday in the 7300 block of Race Street. Paramedics and firefighters were called to the area for a report of an unresponsive male under a car.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At 3:38 a.m. Monday, a ShotSpotter notification alerted authorities to shots being fired in the 700 block of Brushton Avenue.

Responding officers found 20-year-old Jason Estes suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 6 a.m.

The name of the other victim has not been released. There is also no word about possible suspects at this time.
