Perrotto: 94 Wins Will Be Tough For Pirates To Match

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan) - Pirates pitchers and catchers will report to Bradenton on Feb. 12. The Pirates finished with a 94-68 record in 2013. Tab Douglas and Stacy Kauffman asked John Perrotto if the Pirates can get to 90 wins again this season.

Perrotto replied that it's going to be hard with the roster they have now.

"I still think they can have a good team, but I think 94 wins is a little tough to match, and I think 90 would be stretching it," Perrotto said.

Former Pirate pitcher Paul Maholm signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers for $1.5 million plus incentives. Perrotto said that he's not sure where Maholm would have fit in after the Pirates signed Edinson Volquez, but his price tag really dropped.

"At that price, I'd have liked to see Paul Maholm back in a Pirates uniform, but apparently the Pirates felt differently," Perrotto said.
