Pens Want Malkin To Shoot The Puck

It's what every scorer hopes to hear: Shoot the puck more.

Now in his ninth NHL season, Penguins' center Evgeni Malkin has scored 236 career goals. Malkin has produced six goals and 17 points this season for 10-2-1 Pittsburgh.

But head coach Mike Johnston has implored Malkin to be more aggressive, particularly in even-strength situations.

"[Malkin's] shot total is one thing that really has to go up," Johnston told the Tribune-Review. "He has a great shot. He just has to use it more."

Malkin heeded his coach's advice, scoring his first non-power play goal of the season in the Penguins' 6-1 victory last night at Buffalo.
