Police: Beaver County Trooper Arrested For Trying To Withdraw Friend's Traffic Citation

BEAVER, Pa. (KDKA) - A state trooper is in trouble with the law and authorities said it was to get a friend out of a ticket.
State Police say Trooper Trask Alexander was in Beaver County charged Thursday with crimes related to tampering with evidence for allegedly trying to withdraw a friend's traffic citation.
According to the criminal complaint, state police pulled over a driver in Rochester. The driver allegedly told police she and her boyfriend are friends of Trooper Alexander. She is accused of sending photos of the citation and traffic stop to the trooper.
Court papers said on December 1st, Alexander sent a withdrawal form to a district court. He allegedly used his friends name and cited the reason for the form was "wrong defendant was selected for citation." The court allegedly found some inconsistencies and called the Beaver Barracks.
The trooper who issued the citation allegedly told the court he did not send the form and let his supervisor know.
At this point, Alexander is facing charges of tampering with evidence or identification, tampering with public records or information, obstructing administration of law or other governmental function.
He's suspended without pay pending resolution of the criminal charges and an internal investigation.
Police say Alexander enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police in November of 2014. He's assigned to the patrol section of Troop D, Beaver.
