Pennsylvania State Police investigating overnight shooting in Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. (KDKA) -- A teenager was shot overnight in Aliquippa. 

Officers were called to the 1200 block of Main Street shortly after midnight on Monday, Pennsylvania State Police said. When they got there, they found an 18-year-old man who had been shot. He was flown to the hospital, where police said he is recovering.

Investigators at the scene told KDKA-TV's overnight unit that a vehicle on Main Street had been hit with gunfire. 

It's unclear what led up to the shooting or if anyone has been taken into custody.

Pennsylvania State Police are leading the investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police's Beaver Criminal Investigations Unit at 724-773-7400.
