Search Crews Comb Jacobs Creek For Missing Swimmer In Westmoreland Co.

SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Rescue crews continued the search Wednesday for a man who disappeared while swimming in Westmoreland County.
Police say the victim, Dylan Knopsnider, was jumping from rocks into Jacobs Creek with some friends in South Huntingdon Township on Tuesday evening when he didn't resurface.
Search crews took to an area of the creek, known to locals as Creek Falls, on Wednesday morning to look for the 21-year-old from Connellsville.
He is believed to have slipped as he went to jump into the creek, possibly striking his head in the process. He never resurfaced.
Rescue crews spent the day searching the creek and its banks looking for any signs of Knopsnider. A diver searched the area where the missing man is believed to have entered the water, but visibility was limited.
Officials tell KDKA the waters depth near the section of the creek where Knopsnider went in ranges from 10-40 feet.
Friends and family kept vigil waiting for any word on Knopsnider's fate.
Not far away, memorial crosses stood for two victims lost in accidental drownings in the same section of Jacobs Creek.
