Pennsylvania Judge Questions NCAA Sanctions Against Penn State

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - While it seems like the only people going on the record and questioning the NCAA sanctions against Penn State are people not affiliated with the university, another voice has spoken out against the penalties the program still faces.

It was on Wednesday that Commonwealth Court Judge Anne E. Convey became the latest to offer her thoughts on the Freeh Report which the NCAA used as their evidence to penalize Penn State saying there were "many discrepancies" and that the penalties impacted people who had nothing to do with Jerry Sandusky.

As Chris Palmer of Philly.com wrote, Convey took an unusual step in ordering Penn State to to be a part of a lawsuit filed by State Treasurer Rob McCord and State Sen. Jake Corman, a Republican from Centre, Pa., which is looking to keep the funds Penn State had to pay as part of their penalty in the state.

Palmer's piece also has the opinion of an NCAA official on the move as well as other members of the Pennsylvania government.
