PennDOT To Launch Salt Truck, Snowplow Tracker

PennDOT is launching a new program to track salt trucks whenever the snow finally arrives.

GPS monitors were installed in more than 700 maintenance and salt trucks and will show up on PennDOT's website.

The site will also show which roads were treated.

The program has not yet officially launched, our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. But when it does, it will be accessible through the 511pa.com website.
