PennDOT Prepared To Treat Icy Roads

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – PennDOT is treating roads to make sure the rain and snow that fell Monday won't freeze.

Areas such as Grove City and Slippery Rock, which got more snow, could have some treacherous conditions.

"It's a little earlier than I would expect these kinds of conditions, but you just gotta be careful and dress appropriately," one man said.

PennDOT crews say they've been ready with salt and brine ready.

Arctic temperatures are expected starting overnight, going into Tuesday, which could leave some roads icy.

It will likely get down to 13 degrees Tuesday morning, with a feels-like temperature of zero.

If you see any slippery conditions, PennDOT says to call 1-800-FIX-ROAD.
