Penn State Behrend Closed After Threat

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Penn State Behrend in Erie has closed after a threat was called into the school.

An alert on the school's website says "Threats issued to campus. Shelter in place. Avoid Reed Building. Campus operations suspended until further notice."

GoErie.com reports that the threat was phoned in and targeted Bruno's Café.

A spokesman for the school tells GoErie that it's not believed there is an imminent threat, but police are doing a sweep of the school and investigating.

The website reports that students form the Reed building have been moved to Erie Hall.
