County Police Investigating Homicide In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Police responded to a homicide in Penn Hills just before 9 p.m.

A 30-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head on Sharon Court.

Witnesses on scene described two younger black males that fled towards a residence on Frankstown road.

Detectives and uniformed officers approached the home and made contact with the female owner who called on all other occupants in the home.

Officers say three young men came out of the home, but the forth was hiding inside.

After getting permission from the homeowner, police entered and found the fourth young man down in the basement where he was given commands from a Penn Hills Police Officer.

After refusing to comply, the subject fired a weapon at the officer.

The officer returned fire, and the young man was pronounced dead at the home.
