Police: Alcohol Believed To Be Factor In Fatal Penn Hills Crash

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Police believe alcohol was a factor in a fatal crash in Penn Hills on Thursday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Frankstown Road near the Advanced Auto Parts store.

Allegheny County Police say it appears a 48-year-old man driving a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Frankstown Road when he crossed the center line and crashed into a Nissan SUV.

The pickup truck driver was transported to a local hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.

The 33-year-old driver of the Nissan SUV was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identifies the victim as Steven Prazenica of Allison Park. He was pronounced dead just after 5:20 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe alcohol was a factor for the pickup truck driver.
