Penguins Acquire Jeff Carter, Trade Two Draft Picks To L.A. Kings

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Penguins have traded two draft picks in exchange for Jeff Carter from the Los Angeles Kings.
The Penguins will give up conditional 2022 third-round and 2023 fourth-round draft picks in exchange for the 36-year-old forward.

The 3rd round pick can become a 2nd Rd pick if the Penguins reach the Cup final and Carter plays in at least 50 percent of the games.
TSN's Bob McKenzie and Rob Rossi from the Athletic first broke the news late Sunday night.

Carter has one year remaining on his contract after the season, with an AAV of $5.27M. The Kings will retain 50% of Carter's salary.
So far this season, Carter has scored 8 goals and added 11 assists in 40 games this season.
Carter and Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall have a history together, having won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012.
