Penguins' 2017-18 Regular Season Schedule Released

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It's never too early to start thinking about next season, even with a second-straight Stanley Cup victory still fresh in the minds of Pittsburghers.

The Pittsburgh Penguins' schedule for the 2017-18 season was released Thursday afternoon.

The Penguins will open the season at home with a championship banner raising against the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. Then, the next day, the Pens head out on the road to Chicago for a game against the Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m.

Fans won't have to wait too long for a Stanley Cup Final rematch either. The Nashville Predators will visit Pittsburgh on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.

Marc-Andre Fleury will return to Pittsburgh on Feb. 6, 2018, with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Before that, the Pens will travel to Las Vegas for their first game against Fleury and the new franchise on Dec. 14.

As for rivalries, the Penguins and Washington Capitals will meet for the first time on Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Verizon Center. And the Philadelphia Flyers come to town for the first time of the new season on Nov. 27 at 7 p.m.

The Pens also have a five-day stretch between Jan. 8-12 without a game, the longest of the season.

The regular season will end with back-to-back games, starting with the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 5, and then the Ottawa Senators come to PPG Paints Arena to close out the season on April 6.
