Pedestrian Struck, Killed Along Washington Twp. Road
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A young man is dead after being hit by a vehicle while walking along a road in Butler County late Friday.
The accident happened just after 10:20 p.m. on Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township.
State police identify the victim as 21-year-old Cody Wiles of North Washington.
According to police, Wiles was walking south along the northbound lane of the road when he was struck by a 2004 Toyota Sienna.
Investigators say the driver, identified as 47-year-old Andrew Cohen of Stroudsburg, passed another vehicle and was trying to get back in the southbound lane when the vehicle hit Wiles.
Wiles was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.
State police continue to investigate the crash.
