Paul Chryst: Can't Be Afraid To Use Tyler Boyd As Much As Possible

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Pitt football head coach Paul Chryst joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Thursday for his regular weekly spot.

This week he talked about the Panthers' blowout win over Delaware and their upcoming Friday night matchup with Boston College.

Chryst was asked whether or not he'll be more cautious about using Tyler Boyd on special teams after his injury scare last week.

He said that he can't let the incident keep him from getting the most out of his star receiver.

"Just like everybody else, I want Tyler for every snap and every game," Chryst said. "When we recruited Tyler, we said we're going to do all the things we can to get you the ball, and we even talked during the game when he was on the sidelines. He knew I was going to get hammered with the questions. The fact that Tyler got hurt with the ball in his hand- you know, we're going to try to get the ball in his hand a lot more. That's part of the game, and Tyler's a great competitor and loves it every time. I know we're a better team with Tyler. For us to be good, he needs to touch the ball as many times as possible, and it's a way that he can really impact the game. I say prayers. You want to be smart, but he's got to play."

Chryst joins "The Fan Morning Show" Thursdays at 7:20 a.m.
