Pat Tillman Remembered With Strip District "Shadow Run"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Dozens of people were out in the Strip District to participate in the Pat Tillman Shadow Run.

The run is one of many across the country that raise awareness for the Pat Tillman Scholarship Fund, which was created in memory of the late football player and offers scholarships to veterans and their families.

Tillman, a former Arizona State University football player, was killed in Afghanistan while serving on active duty.

"His family and his friends have taken up the call to continue his legacy and doing great things, that's what the Tillman Foundation Run is all about," said event organizer Ben Keen.

Participants ran 4.2 miles in honor of Tillman's jersey number, 42.
