Parkway West Repaving Cancelled

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Plans to pave the Parkway West have been cancelled this weekend, but work is still planned on the median and shoulder.

PennDOT officials say the outbound side of the parkway will still be closed between the Fort Pitt Tunnel and Poplar Street.

The following detour is suggested:

-From the Fort Pitt Bridge, take Exit 69C to East Carson Street (Route 837)
-Continue straight towards the Route 60/Crafton Exit
-Follow signs towards northbound Route 19/60 to East I-376 Crafton/Downtown
-Take left ramp towards Downtown/Crafton
-Continue right towards the Route 60/Crafton Exit
-Turn left onto Wabash Street
-Wabash Street becomes Greentree Road
-From Greentree Road, turn right onto Mansfield Avenue (Route 3062)
-Turn left onto Poplar Street
-Take the ramp to westbound (outbound) I-376 Parkway West
-End detour

Officials say the Parkway West should reopen around 2 p.m.
