Parkway East Reopens Ahead of Schedule

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- All lanes of the Parkway East reopened at 10 a.m. Sunday, ahead of the originally planned schedule.

Crews were able to complete their work preparing the Greenfield Bridge for demolition ahead of schedule due to weather conditions and having additional time for preparation, the Pittsburgh Department of Public Works said.

The next Parkway East closure is scheduled for Sunday, December 27th, and the expected demolition date of the Greenfield Bridge is December 28th.

The Parkway was originally scheduled to reopen Monday morning.
