National Transportation Safety Board Releases Preliminary Report Of Fatal Turnpike Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The National Transportation Safety Board has released the preliminary report of the fatal Pennsylvania Turnpike crash that occurred on Jan. 5.

According to the preliminary findings, all aspects of the crash still remain under investigation.

Records are being gathered on the drivers of the bus and the trucks involved in the crash along with safety procedures and culture within Z&D Tour, the owner of the bus.

The Pennsylvania State Police along with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are working with the NTSB to produce a complete account of the crash.

The NTSB is working to determine probable cause "with the intent of issuing safety recommendations to prevent similar events."
