Pa. Senate Considering Fee Hike On Hunting Licenses
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Hunters may have to pay more to hunt this year.
A proposal to raise license fees was submitted in the State Senate on Friday. If passed, this would increase prices for the first time in 17 years.
The bill would raise the price of the standard hunting license by $10. That covers tags for antlered deer and spring and fall turkey.
Antlerless deer tags would go up by $5 to $10 apiece.
An archery deer tag and a bear tag would also increase by $5.
A new license called the "ultimate outdoorsman" would bundle several tags together. It would cost $110.
The Game Commission says hunters would save $38 compared to the cost of purchasing those licenses individually.
