One Person Shot Inside Home In Braddock, Suspect Arrested

BRADDOCK, Pa. (KDKA) --- One person was shot early Tuesday morning inside a home in Braddock and the suspect is in custody.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened the 400 block of Verona Street around 2:45 a.m.

The 19-year-old male victim was found shot twice inside his bedroom. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

"Apparently, it was an altercation or argument between two individuals," said Braddock Mayor John Fetterman.

Through the course of their investigation, police determined Dion Parker, 22, was the shooter and an arrest warrant was issued. Parker was arrested at his mother's home in Carrick without incident and will be charged with aggravated assault and weapons violations.

Police on the scene said the victim knows the shooter.

After questioning, Parker was taken to Allegheny County Jail where he was held on parole violations. He was set to be arraigned on charges related to the shooting.
