The Westmoreland County coroner's office says 29-year-old Ryan J. Winter, of Plum Borough, went off the road while going around a curve, struck a guiderail and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Winter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner's office says he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and speed is believed to have been a factor.

Route 130 was closed in both directions for more than two hours between Sloan Avenue and North 14th Street Extension. The road reopened around 5:30 a.m.
