One person killed in crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike

State police investigating fatal crash on Turnpike

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One person was killed in an overnight crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. 

State Police tell KDKA that a crash occurred between the Butler Valley exit and the Cranberry exit. 

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and one person has died.

A driver lost control and hit the center median, just west of the Butler Valley exit in the westbound lanes in Hampton Township. Another vehicle then hit that vehicle's driver's side door. 

The westbound lanes were closed overnight but reopened just after 5 a.m. 

The Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 55-year-old Richard Krupka.

State Police are investigating the crash.
