One Person Injured In Shooting At Hill District Block Party

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are investigating a shooting at a block party in the Hill District.

Hundreds of people were in the area around midnight on Saturday night when shots rang out.

We know at least one person was taken into custody by police after about 40 shots were fired at a block party.

Police say the person was identified, questioned, and released.

According to police, Zone 2 officer went to the area of Perry Street and Wylie Avenue for reports of an active shooter around midnight.

SWAT officers and paramedics were called out to the scene.

When officers arrived, they found about 300 to 500 people running from the area where those roughly 40 shots were fired.

After investigators found no victims at the scene, a man with a gunshot wound to the arm showed up at an area hospital and said he was shot in the Hill District.

At this time, there are no details about the person taken into custody or any charges that could be filed.

Police are continuing to investigate.
