Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Man On Allegheny Co. 'Most Wanted' List

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- One of the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office's most wanted men is behind bars.

Police have arrested Thomas Baumann, 37, of Swissvale. He was apprehended by sheriff's deputies Wednesday morning in the Elliot neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

In July of 2011, the Child Advocacy Center at Children's Hospital filed a report of suspected child abuse. A baby was taken to the hospital by his mother, who noticed the 8-week-old child was distressed and inconsolably crying after picking the baby up from the father's home.

Police say the baby suffered multiple fractures to both legs, a broken collarbone and hemorrhages to both eyes.

Baumann was convicted of assaulting the infant. He was wanted this time for violating his probation.

The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office said this is the second time Baumann has been on the county's "Most Wanted" list. Last year he was wanted on probation violation as well.
