1 Man Dead, 1 Man In Custody After New Castle Shooting

NEW CASTLE (KDKA)- Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in Lawrence County.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police say 25-year-old DeMon Higgins was shot along West Lincoln Avenue in New Castle.

The shooting took place at the Lincoln Terrace Apartments. Higgins was found with a gunshot wound outside of the complex.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested 46-year-old Joseph Cohen in some nearby woods. They found a gun on him.

Cohen was taken to the Lawrence County Jail and charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
