One Killed In West Oakland Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a house fire in West Oakland on Sunday morning.

The fire broke out at a home located in the 3000-block of Terrace Street.

Reports of the fire first came in around 7 a.m. Police say the smoke was spotted by nearby firefighters.

According to police, two residents were pulled out of the home. One person, identified as 61-year-old Anthony Ford, was transported to UPMC Mercy. He was pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The second resident was transported to UPMC Presbyterian with smoke inhalation.

The fire was reportedly under control around 7:23 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
