Officer Rescues Baby Turkeys From Sewer Grate

CARNEGIE (KDKA) -- An officer with the Carnegie Police Department saved the day this week when he rescued a few baby turkeys.

Officer Dennis Lawrence was patrolling the West Busway on Monday when he noticed a mother turkey in distress.

Her chicks had fallen into a sewer grate.

With some help from a few Port Authority maintenance workers, Officer Lawrence was able to reunite the turkey family.

Thankfully, the little guys weren't hurt during their adventure.
