Officer Dragged During Traffic Stop In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- A police officer was dragged by a vehicle Saturday night during a traffic stop in Penn Hills.

According to authorities, it began when a man named Michael Brewer was pulled over on Pershing Street.

He reportedly gave a fake name and the officer realized the man was wanted on warrants.

The officer attempted to reach into the car to turn the ignition off, and that's when Brewer stepped on the gas.

The officer was dragged 12-15 feet before the suspect jumped out and ran into a wooded area.

Brewer was caught. The officer sustained minor injuries.
