State Police Called In After Pig Roast Turns Dangerous

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police were called to a celebratory pig roast being held by Slippery Rock University students Saturday night.

It happened at an off-campus apartment complex called The Heights, off of Route 173.

The Butler Eagle reports that somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 people were at the event.

Four people were injured -- including two women who were accidentally hit by a car and a man who was cut stepping on glass -- the newspaper reports.

The Butler Eagle also reports that state police also had to tend to a number of alcohol-related, theft and assault calls at the party.
