Observatory Hill Residents Sick Of Continued Violence

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Community members in Observatory Hill are looking for a way to try to curb violence in their neighborhood.

Many residents, community leaders and business owners gathered Wednesday night for a meeting to fight back against crime.

In just the last week alone, Mandy's Pizza was robbed at gunpoint twice.

And residents say they've had enough.

"The bottom line is everyone needs to be involved in their community, whether you live in the North Side, South Side, Lawrenceville, Squirrel Hill, Garfield, I mean it's – everyone needs to be involved. And don't close your eyes and don't ignore what is happening," said business owner Bradlee Tebbs. "Engage yourself with your neighbors."

Earlier this week, Mayor Bill Peduto promised to increase foot and bike patrols in that neighborhood.
