Police: Icy Road Conditions Caused Fatal North Huntingdon Crash

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a car crash in North Huntingdon on Friday morning.

It happened just before 7:30 a.m. on Route 993 near the intersection with Haywood Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found two pickup trucks that were severely damaged.

According to police, icy road conditions caused 51-year-old Scott C. Harris, of Turtle Creek, to cross the center line and crash head-on into the other truck.

Harris was killed in the crash. The Westmoreland County coroner's office says he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The other driver was taken to the hospital with injuries.
