North Huntingdon Commissioners Vote To Fire Police Chief

NORTH HUNTINGDON (KDKA) -- A police chief in Westmoreland County is out of a job after township commissioners voted to fire him.

At a meeting Wednesday evening, North Huntingdon Township commissioners voted 4-3 to fire chief Andrew Lisiecki.

One of the commissioners had questioned whether Lisiecki was fully aware of the drug problem in the township.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, that sparked debate among the commissioners and residents in attendance at the meeting.

Several commissioners and residents spoke in favor of the chief, including a former police officer who now serves as a commissioner.

He was quoted as saying Lisiecki "brought some discipline to the department."

Lt. Rod Mahinske will serve as acting police chief.
