7-Year-Old Boy Raises Money To Give Prayer Medals To Officers

MONACA (KDKA) -- A Brighton Township boy is raising money so he can buy prayer medals to give to Beaver County police officers.

Tom Simpkin said his 7-year-old son, Nick, wanted to do something special for their local police officers to remind them that the community cares about them.

Nick and his father want to buy 250 Saint Michael Prayer Medals to give to local officers before Christmas, and they've started a GoFundMe to raise money to pay for the medals, which are $2 each.

A priest at St. John the Baptist Church in Monaca blessed some of the coins that have already been purchased.
