NewsRadio 1020 KDKA Editorial: Buctober in Pittsburgh

For the third straight year – it was Buctober in Pittsburgh.

The Pirates played a post-season game –

And ended the season with 98 wins –

The second best record in Major League Baseball.

Fans packed PNC Park again –

Setting an attendance record for the second consecutive year.

There were highs –

Like the miracle comeback wins against St. Louis before the All-Star Break –

And lows –

Like South Korea's Jung Ho Kang's successful rookie year –

Ending with a leg injury in mid-September.

Fans saw A.J. Burnett and Aramis Ramirez –

Finish out their careers in a Pirates uniform.

In all – it was a memorable season –

Even if Buctober didn't last nearly long enough.

Still – it also promises to be an interesting offseason.

The futures of so many players –

Like Neil Walker – Pedro Alvarez – and Mark Melancon –

Will be decided.

And – of course – in less than six months –

The Bucs will be back at PNC Park.
