Police: Reported Attempted Child Abduction In New Kensington Was Fabricated

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) - Police say the reported attempted child abduction in New Kensington Thursday night was fabricated.

Police say they investigated the reported attempted abduction and found it had been fabricated. Police were searching areas of New Ken last night, including Main Street, Third Street, Sixth Avenue, Fourth Street and Freeport Street.

The attempted child abduction from October 1, 2020 in New Kensington was investigated and found to be fabricated. Appropriate charges are to be filed.

They were previously questioning two people in connection with the incident.

On Friday, police announced the reported attempted abduction didn't happen. "Appropriate charges are to be filed," they said.
